How Can Therapy Help Individuals

- Do you feel like your life has become too routine?
- Do you have trouble with your boss or co-workers?
- Are you having trouble in your marriage and don’t know what to do?
- Do you worry or feel stress?
- Do you yell at your children more than you want to?
- Are you re-evaluating your life since your kids left or are in school?
- Does your mind constantly race or do you ask yourself “what if”?
- Do you want to enjoy things more?
- Do you constantly say “yes” when you want to say “no”?

What Can Therapy Do?
Therapy can help you become happier within yourself. In addition, you will learn how to get along with others and sustain more meaningful relationships. Determining why you are unhappy and how to resolve your unhappiness will be our main goal.

Starting therapy may produce a range of emotions in you. Some routine or normal emotions include:
- nervousness
- fear
- self consciousness
- vulnerability
The first appointment is usually the most difficult, especially if you have never talked to a therapist before. This is because you do not know what to expect. Many of my clients report that they thought a therapist would just sit and listen. My clients report that their sessions with me are much more interactive than what they had expected. My clients report that I am very easy to connect with, that I am a good listener, that I provide a lot of feedback, and that they feel that they can open up with me.

The first therapy session helps to:
- determine why you came to therapy
- identify the issues that you want to work on
- set therapeutic goals that you are attempting to achieve
- help you understand how you will achieve your goals

Some issues people seek therapy for include:
- Transitions in your life - Relationship Issues
- Work & Career Issues - Midlife Crisis
- Learning when to say no and to stick up for yourself
- Resolve Conflict - Manage Stress - Panic or Anxiety
